The East Coast Tour
Yes, there is one because I think there should be one.
I have ridden 99 % of the east coast and it is beautiful, but it’s like any other tour. Time is everything, I did it in the early summer 2015. Up around the top, meaning above New York, the beach towns are small and close together. Translated, stop and go traffic all the way, this is why I only have 99% of the coast.
I made it to Portland, Maine before I cut up and across out of the state heading towards Mt Washington. I recommend this tour during Spring you’ll have all the new foliage coming in with all the smells that come with it. If you choose the Fall and all the stunning colors of the east coast you won’t be disappointed. Coming down from Maine, crossing New Hampshire, Massachusetts, ok I’m not going to give you every city or even state.
Highlights from here are New York City for sure, with options of Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty. If you want to be able to go in the statue, you will have to schedule this before arrival, the same with the Tower. One of my favorites is walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Start deciding what you want to see, you’ll have a two nights and a full day there.
From there, we head thru Staten Island, then down the Garden State Parkway before jumping across through Maryland, into Alexandria, Virginia. The nation’s capitol for the day, then down to Newport News, Virginia.
North Carolina, for a couple of stop overs, before a night in amazing Savannah, Georgia. Dropping down to Daytona and Miami, with an airboat ride with a trip to the Everglades. Then on to a couple of nights in Key West, Florida.
